Promoting Independence is an independent Occupational Therapy consultancy specialising in providing high quality therapists nationwide to the private and statutory sectors. The practice is founded on over 13 years’ experience in the occupational therapy (OT) and 18 years’ experience within the health and social care market. Our team of OT’s combine, expert clinical knowledge, experience and complete professional integrity to deliver an unparalleled quality of care with all of our services delivered into clients’ own homes. Our director maintains his clinical knowledge by taking on a minimal caseload to maintain his clinical skills, an understanding of the market place and a continuing commitment to maintain his own professional development. We are an independent practice and have no financial link with anyone that means our assessments are impartial and we will holistically assess each client and provide what we believe to be the best outcome for that client to promote their independence or to support a carer in their task of keeping them in their own home and community as long as possible with the most appropriate equipment and care.
Stuart is a well-respected Occupational Therapist, with 14 years of experience. Stuart has recently finished his term as regional communications lead for the British Association of Occupational Therapists Wales Region after three years and remains an advisor to the group supporting the training and development needs of the Welsh members. Stuart maintains a high level of professional development and feels the key to providing his clients with an excellent service is maintaining close networks within the commercial, housing and Occupational Therapy fields. Stuart set up and established OTAC, the Occupational Therapy Adaptations Conference in 2015 and since its inception, OTAC has trained over 1000 Occupational Therapists on the key principles of adapting environments for the disabled.
